Our Promise of Quality
As Seapack's number one emphasis is quality and safety of its surimi products, you have our promise of quality when you buy our surimi products. We are dedicated towards producing high-quality, nutritious and safe products which meet international standards and demands from consumers worldwide.
Stringent controls are exercised at every stage of production. Seapack has specially built cleanroom environments equivalent to NASA's 100K standard (which means less than one particle of dust per cubic foot of space) in our factory to ensure total hygiene of our surimi products.
Seapack tests all incoming surimi to ensure that the finished surimi products meet exceptional quality standards. To test the quality of surimi, random samples of surimi are mixed with salt, starch and water, steamed and subsequently tested for gel strength, hardness, elasticity, pH, moisture content, impurities and colour. The final seafood product is a result of meticulous craftsmanship.
As a pioneer and one of the leading surimi-based producers in Malaysia, you can be sure of our meticulous manufacturing processes as we have obtained various certification and accreditation over the years which are testimony to Seapack's highest regard towards producing quality products.
We are the first frozen seafood manufacturer in Malaysia to achieve the following certification, award and accreditation, locally and abroad.
Seapack is a Superbrand
Seapack was awarded a Superbrand in 2005. Superbrands is an independent arbiter on branding with Superbrand programmes found in more than 40 countries worldwide. The organization promotes the discipline of branding and pays tribute to exceptional brands by compiling a list of brands which are then submitted to the Superbrands Council for selection and grading. The Superbrands Council then scores each brand based on strict selection criteria. Any brand which scores above a pre-determined score qualifies as a Superbrand.
MS ISO Certification
Seapack received the MS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System (QMS) in 1994 (known as MS ISO 9002 then) for the manufacture of precooked and frozen fish meat (surimi-based products).
As a committed food manufacturer, Seapack has successfully implemented the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HACCP), which emphasizes food safety and accredited by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia.
EU Approval 9
Seapack is one of the 4 factories in Malaysia audited by the European Union authority for the coveted EU Approval No. 9 which allows Seapack products to be exported to the EU market. This is an achievement to be proud of as it proves Seapack's manufacturing processes have met and more importantly, fulfilled the EU's stringent standards for manufacturing. Seapack earned the EU Approval 9 by fulfilling all requirements laid down in the Technical Standard developed and adopted by major supermarket chains and inspection bodies in the UK.
BRC Retail Consortium Certification
Seapack obtained the British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification (Higher Level) in 1999 which has further enhanced Seapack's reputation in Europe as a safe producer. Seapack is also the first business in Asia to successfully obtain the BRC Global Standard-Food, Issue 4 in January 2005.
Seapack recognizes the precise needs of Muslim consumers around the world. To cater to the needs of our Muslim customers, Seapack has endeavoured to create safe and halal surimi products by applying for a halal certification from Malaysia's Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM).
Seapack is now a recognized halal manufacturer having passed the certification procedures for creating lawful and permissible products by Islamic laws. This halal certification signifies another proud milestone for Seapack.
Armed with the halal certification, Seapack has exhibited at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2004 which is the largest integrated halal trade exposition in the world and the largest food and beverage trade fair in Malaysia.
